Hua Hin Travel and Destination Guide

Hua Hin golf

Hua Hin is a remarkable golf holiday destination in many ways. The opulent nature of the 100 year old resort somehow lends itself to the relaxing game, the courses are of international standard, with perfect upkeep, and yet are surprisingly low cost and unpopulated throughout the year, and accommodation in Hua Hin provides all the luxury that you would wish for in a laid back golfing holiday.

The Royal Hua Hin Golf Club is significant in that it was Thailand's very first golf course and that many of its fairways are occupied with large trees and topiary shrubbery pruned in the shapes of animals and Thai mythological creatures. The course has an old world charm and is a historical treasure.

At the base of the mountains, twenty minute drive to the west is the well televised Springfield Royal Country Club. This is a Jack Nicklaus signature course of 27 holes. It has hosted many pro tour events, and continues to be a staple part of the Asian golfing circuit.

Imperial Lake View is a few minutes south and is the site of the Asian Tour's 2007 Thailand Open. Like many golf courses in Hua Hin Imperial Lake View is abundant in space, and in this case is home to 36 holes.

Palm Hills is ten minutes from the Hua Hin town centre and a great place to watch the sun set as you round up the back nine. The course is suitable for all levels.

The drive to Majestic Creek and Milford Golf Club takes you through the fertile farmlands of pineapples, mango, sugar cane and aloe vera, and is part of the overall leisure experience of a day’s golfing.

The Black Mountain, Banyan and Queen's Valley (aspiring to host a European PGA Tour event) golf courses are additions to the golf scene that help this once small fishing town transform itself into a premier golf destination.
Hua Hin Golf Holidays

Hua Hin is so abundant in golf courses that some tour operators are now basing entire holidays around select golf rounds. You can always do it yourself and follow your day to day inclinations after arrival. All courses are well kept and require minimum booking. Flights to Bangkok are plentiful from around Asia, and the train ride into the famous Royal Waiting Room at Hua Hin train station is a historical journey.

Hua Hin Golf Accommodation

Central Hua Hin Town accommodation is optimal if you wish to the whole circuit of Hua Hin courses, although most golfers can’ resist the temptation of a luxury villa on Hua Hin Beach, or even Cha-Am, and arrange a good deal with a taxi driver. If there’s a specific Hua Hin golf course that you wish to master, many courses have specific luxury villas and accommodation nearby tailored to golfers.
Hua Hin accommodation is high quality and equipped with modern amenities and facilities. Serviced apartments are available in town, as are condominiums, while Hua Hin villas remain the luxury option.
