Hua Hin Golf Courses

Hua Hin is one of Thailand’s premier Golfing destinations, as evidenced by the abundance of international-quality courses and the great resorts and packages available. The standard of courses is high, and many were creates by globally renowned designers and managed by respected companies. Green fees generally include transfers and caddies. The prices fall in the region of 2-3000 baht, and with so much choice it' easy to find a course in Hua Hin for both the avid enthusiast and the enthusiastic amateur. During the whole of August, Hua Hin and Cha-Am host The Hua Hin Golf Festival. Every day during the month, green fees are set at 800 Baht - except for any Sunday when official tournaments are being held. Entrance to these is usually 1,200 Baht and there are always some great prizes up for grabs. Participating courses vary from year-to-year, it's best to check first.

Imperial Lakeview offer a 36 holes and the Mountain and Lakes courses cover 6900 yards from the back tees. Lakeview is a challenging but inspiring course, suitable for more experienced golfers and therefore a treat for those who enjoy a test of skill.  Palm Hills Golf and Country Club is just 10 minutes from Hua Hin town. Open since 1996, the mature landscape features dog legs and water hazards on its signature holes and the beautiful surroundings make Palm Hills an attractive choice for leisure golfers.

The Royal Hua Hin course was the first in Hua Hin. It was designed by O.J. Robins and offers a parkland design with broad fairways that are kind to the less experienced golfer. Considered one of Thailand's finest courses, it is easily reached from town, but feels miles from anywhere with soft, rolling terrain that meanders around some of the region's famous limestone outcroppings. Mature trees line the well-kept fairways, which means accuracy is key to a low scoring round. Several holes also offer dramatic views across the Gulf of Thailand. Springfield Royal Country Club is a world class course designed by Jack Niclaus. and regularly classed amongst the best in Asia. The course is meticulously maintained and offers 27 professionally designed and landscaped holes to challenge any golfer's skills and  sensibilities. The championship course was designed five sets of tees to play off and varying degrees of difficulty that  draw on the dramatic tropical landscape. A big drive is essential off the back tees, with a deft touch around the green guaranteeing a low score.

At the base of the mountains, twenty minute drive to the west is the well televised Springfield Royal Country Club. This is a Jack Nicklaus signature course of 27 holes. It has hosted many pro tour events, and continues to be a staple part of the Asian golfing circuit.

Imperial Lake View is a few minutes south and is the site of the Asian Tour's 2007 Thailand Open. Like many golf courses in Hua Hin Imperial Lake View is abundant in space, and in this case is home to 36 holes.

Palm Hills is ten minutes from the Hua Hin town centre and a great place to watch the sun set as you round up the back nine. The course is suitable for all levels.

Finally,  Milford Hua Hin is a refreshing alternative to region's long championship courses, and presents with testing fairways coupled with fabulous ocean views. The unique design combines a demanding round  with a rewarding stroll through beautiful coastal scenery.

The Black Mountain, Banyan and Queen's Valley (aspiring to host a European PGA Tour event) golf courses are additions to the golf scene that help this once small fishing town transform itself into a premier golf destination.
Hua Hin Golf Holidays

Hua Hin is so abundant in golf courses that some tour operators are now basing entire holidays around select golf rounds. You can always do it yourself and follow your day to day inclinations after arrival. All courses are well kept and require minimum booking. Flights to Bangkok are plentiful from around Asia, and the train ride into the famous Royal Waiting Room at Hua Hin train station is a historical journey.

Central Hua Hin Town accommodation is optimal if you wish to the whole circuit of Hua Hin courses, although most golfers can’ resist the temptation of a luxury villa on Hua Hin Beach, or even Cha-Am, and arrange a good deal with a taxi driver. If there’s a specific Hua Hin golf course that you wish to master, many courses have specific luxury villas and accommodation nearby tailored to golfers.
